Area Sales Manager – Canada
Job Summary:
The Area Sales Manager will support direct sales efforts for the filtration products for the Markert Group. This position reports to the Head of Sales in the US. The role will have influence over Markert’s Canadian sales territory. The ideal candidate will live or be willing to relocate to this area. Responsible for driving B2B sales growth and for providing excellent after-sales service to our customers. The role will propagate the Markert brand, increase sales and profitability while designing and implementing the corporate sales strategy for the region.
Job Description:
- Drive direct B2B sales and develop new accounts
- Mushroom existing accounts and provide excellent customer service
- Visit customers primarily prospects in mining, refineries, aggregates, and other core industries to support sales strategy
- Promote and sell pressure and vacuum filtration textile products, that are manufactured and designed to dewater liquid slurries for filtrate or cake solids product in process filtration, water and wastewater applications.
- Maintain good understanding and comprehension of the product’s technical drawings
- Outdoor sales in hot and cold conditions/environments may be required
- Conduct market research and surveys to study the customer base and competitor strategies
- Develop and implement sales strategies for the region along with the sales team
- Respond to RFPs and bids and present product capabilities to C-Suite and senior leadership
- Develop and maintain a strong customer database in the CRM
- Generate leads and add new client logos.
Job Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience preferably within the filtration technology space
- Ability to present and sell to engineering, operations, and senior leadership teams
- A passion for people with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- Experience with direct B2B sales and ability to build innovative sales strategies
- Experience within mining, phosphoric acid plant, aggregates (sand wash) filtration industries would be strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service-oriented work philosophy
- Willingness to work as a team member rather than individual
- Familiarity with heavy industry and industrial environment operations
- Commitment to safety and the required personal protective equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and convey all technical aspects of our product line.
- Experience in working with ERPs, CRMs, and advanced computer skills
- Commercial or technical education/training
- Ability to travel and train with existing team members along with training at manufacturing facilities.
- 50% travel is expected.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science or Arts (BS/BA) with a major in marketing, business, or engineering fields preferred.

The candidate will train directly with a senior salesman out of our facility in Moravia. The plan is for this role to grow into full territory responsibility after the training. The candidate will work from our Moravia manufacturing plant and travel to customers as needed. Ultimately, responsible for driving B2B sales growth and for providing excellent after-sales service to our customers. The role will propagate the Markert brand, increase sales and profitability while designing and implementing the corporate sales strategy for the region.

Junior CAD Designer – Wet Lab Tech
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Junior CAD Designer – Wet Lab Tech to join our technical department at our leading cloth manufacturing facility. As a Junior CAD Designer – Wet Lab Tech, you will be responsible for conducting cloth inspections, testing, and recording of specifications to capture their attributes. You will draw out our cloth designs with exact measurements to ensure the right fit. Your meticulous attention to detail, technical expertise, and ability to follow safety protocols will be crucial in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient test lab environment. There is a high level of communication across stakeholders in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and calibration of equipment according to established procedures and industry standards.
- Record and document all lab activities, inspections, and tests in an organized and timely manner using our designated systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Operate in a wet lab carrying out groove testing.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, and report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
- CAD drawings for new cloths and creation of new part numbers
- Technical clarification regarding production with the ability to provide feedback to our team or customers
- Production planning/work preparation, including loading cutting files
- Ability to learn and attain efficiency performing preventive maintenance in the lab, growing this to cover items in the production area.
- Identify cloth styles and capture their measurements to complete a detailed sketch.
- The ability to communicate using multiple methods to stakeholders – customers, fellow employees, and vendors/suppliers.
Preferred Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training is a plus.
- Have 2 years of CAD experience
- Familiar with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with textile testing equipment and systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using various tools, equipment, and diagnostic instruments to perform testing tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to established guidelines.
