In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, Chris Welch, a dedicated member of the Markert USA sales team, alongside his hockey team, The Chickenhawks, emerged as the National Champions in the 50+ Division at the USA Hockey Adult National Championships. This tournament, held annually in Tampa, Florida, every April, brings together passionate hockey players from across the nation to compete for the coveted title.
The Chickenhawks, composed of 14 total players and one goalie and led by a team member who owns a large chicken farm in Plattsburgh, have become a force to be reckoned with in the hockey world. Representing New York State, primarily from Plattsburgh and Central NY, the team’s cohesion and camaraderie have been pivotal to their success.
Their commitment to the sport and to each other has seen them participate in this tournament for many years, showcasing their enduring passion and dedication to come out on top, having previously won in 2021.
In the final match in 2024 against a formidable opponent from Illinois, The Chickenhawks displayed their determination as they clinched a decisive 6-3 victory.
