Three Words to Describe Himself
When asked to distill his personality down to just three words, Brian chose “Honest, Loyal, and Competitive.” These traits are essential in the world of sales, where building trust through honesty and loyalty creates lasting relationships, while a competitive spirit drives the pursuit of the best solutions for our clients.
What He Enjoys Most About His Job
For Brian, the appeal of working at Markert lies in the variety and the problem-solving aspect of the role. “What I appreciate most is that every day presents a fresh challenge, keeping the work dynamic and engaging,” he explains.
He emphasizes the reward found in helping clients overcome obstacles: “I find real satisfaction in identifying and delivering solutions that address our customers’ needs.” This customer-centric focus ensures that every interaction adds value to the client’s operations.
A Favorite Work-Related Memory
Although he is relatively new to the company, Brian has already witnessed the tangible benefits Markert products provide.
“Being new to Markert, I’m just beginning to build my own experiences here,” he notes. However, the results speak for themselves. “Even in my short time, I’ve already seen how Markert’s cloths and belts have made a real impact for several of my accounts—transforming their operations from what they were using before to the improved performance they’re seeing with Markert products.”
Seeing these operational improvements first-hand reinforces his confidence in the solutions he provides.
Advice to His Younger Self
Looking back at his first day—which he notes wasn’t that long ago—Brian recalls the feeling vividly. “I can remember this day like it was yesterday.”
His advice to himself on that day would be centered on patience and learning: “I would just say absorb everything you can but understand that it’s not going to all stick just yet.” It is a reminder that mastering technical filtration solutions is a journey, not a sprint.
Life Outside of Work
When he isn’t solving problems for customers, Brian’s focus shifts to his family. “I enjoy spending time with my 3 boys,” he shares. “Whether it’s watching them play sports or just hanging out.”
He also maintains an active social calendar. “I enjoy staying busy with concerts, camping, and watching sports.”
A Fun Fact Few People Know
In a surprising twist that showcases his outgoing personality, Brian reveals a hidden talent. “I have DJ’d for over 30 years,” he says. This isn’t just a casual hobby; his experience runs deep. Over the decades, he has “DJ’d and introduced many national country acts and mainstream radio acts.”
